Fellowship

Our Client Services Director, Matt Johnson, and Lead Developer, Alex Gant, are in London today, attending the Ecommerce Expo. This is the UK’s biggest event for retail, eCommerce and marketing technology, with 10,000+ retailers and brands in attendance.

Matt and Alex will be looking for new ideas and inspiration, as well as making lots of new contacts and no doubt enjoying a bit of hospitality as they explore the ExCel exhibition centre. They’ll be sharing their findings in a blog next week.

We’ve built a new website for Freightliner, to support the launch of their European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). This aims to replace the different train control and command systems currently in use across 24 countries.

Our site will help the entire Freightliner team learn more about the new technology and infrastructure. It also uses interactive imagery to show where the new hardware will be fitted to locomotives. Other features include FAQs, news updates and the ability to submit questions directly to the ERTMS team. Future development will include driver training information, downloadable resources and details of individual rail line implementations.

ERTMS is arguably the most effective train control system in the world, bringing significant advantages in terms of maintenance costs savings, safety, reliability, punctuality and traffic capacity.

While we have clients across the UK and overseas, we’re also keen to work with other Suffolk based businesses like ourselves.

So, we’re delighted to be building a new WordPress website for Brandon based Lignacite. They make concrete blocks that are used by housebuilders and provide structural support for iconic buildings like The Shard and The Gherkin.

The new website will feature detailed technical data on Lignacite products, tailored for a range of different sectors and audiences, with a focus on generating new sales enquiries.

Fellowship

All nineteen of us got together yesterday to mark the twentieth anniversary of Fellowship.

In addition to celebratory drinks and nibbles, we took the opportunity to review our progress, our strategy and our plans for the future.

The latter included coming up with suggestions for our dream clients.

Rather predictably these included breweries, football teams, supercar manufacturers, video game makers and the world’s best known toy company.

We dare to dream...

Our WordPress developer, Mike Onslow, is also a goalkeeping coach. Earlier this month he took part in a local charity football tournament, raising money for Rare Disease UK, Hourglass, Cancer Research UK & Success After Stroke.

Although Mike’s team lost 3-1 in the final, the event was a roaring success, raising £5863.24 - well over the £4,000 target. Hundreds of spectators enjoyed the football, other entertainments and some glorious Suffolk sunshine.

A repeat is planned for next year.

Our new office is now fully furnished and looking great. We have plenty of space for team and client meetings, plus a bit of room for rest and relaxation – chance would be a fine thing! We’re right next to the A14 just east of Bury St Edmunds and looking forward to welcoming visitors. We’ll even break out the chocolate biscuits when you come.

Many congratulations to our chosen charity of the year, Inspire Suffolk. Their Felixstowe Team has just won the Community Impact Award at this year’s Prince’s Trust awards. They were welcomed on stage by HRH Prince Charles and met hosts, Ant and Dec.

During the pandemic, the team visited care homes to create a book of letters, written by residents to their 16 year old selves.

American actor and producer, Josh Hartnett said: “Talena, Poppy, Mason and Cameron, are very worthy winners of this award for their ingenious way of engaging with and supporting the older residents of their community. Their immense efforts during the programme have been vital to shine a light on the issue of loneliness. They truly are an inspiration.”

We love working with brands like Black Sheep Brewery that have a strong commitment to their roots and local community. Recently, we built a new Sustainability section for their website, setting out their progress and plans for becoming carbon neutral by 2034 and carbon negative by 2040. Black Sheep have also launched a new carbon neutral cask beer called Respire. We’ll drink to that!
