When he’s not busy working as a WordPress Developer, our latest recruit coaches Cockfield United’s goalkeepers.
Mike Onslow has over 10 years of agency experience, building bespoke WordPress and WooCommerce websites.
Mike’s favourite assignments include a website for Colchester Zoo, where he’s a regular visitor. Plus a challenging project for Freespace which involved a lot of admin area customisation, so the client can easily maintain, edit and use the complex blocks that make up their website.
When he’s not busy at work or out on the football field, you’ll often find Mike out with his wife exploring National Trust properties and hunting waterfalls.
Our new Digital Project Manager, Alexander Brewis, used to be a high ranking sword fencer in the men’s sabre.
He’s also a skilled voiceover artist. Last year he played Father Christmas in an ad for a US company that makes novelty socks.
Valuable as those skills are, they’re not why he got the job. He has an extensive background in software and IT, working as an App Developer and Support Technician before moving into Project Management.
A qualified Prince2 Practitioner, Alexander has delivered WordPress websites, software and apps to clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and healthcare.
He’s clearly well suited for the ahem, cut and thrust of Fellowship work.
I’m really excited to welcome Danny Turnbull to the Fellowship team as our first Non-Executive Director.
Danny is a Managing Consultant at Cactus – one of the UK’s largest agency growth and M&A consultancies – having worked with over 1,000 agencies in the last 10 years. Before joining Cactus, Danny spent thirty years working in agencies, the last fifteen of which he was leading major agency brands in the UK and Europe.
Having done some work with Cactus over the last year or so, I know that Danny will bring a tremendous blend of experience, insight and enthusiasm to this new role. Our team has been growing steadily and with Danny’s guidance I’m confident we’ll go from strength to strength.
We’re delighted that business continues to grow here at Fellowship. We’re currently recruiting for two more roles – a WordPress Developer and a Project Manager. So, if you’re looking for a new challenge and want to join a growing agency, then we’d love to hear from you.
Business is continuing to increase here at Fellowship, so we’re on the hunt for another full-time web developer. If you’re looking for a new challenge and want to join a growing agency, then we’d love to hear from you. You can find out more here.
We went into lockdown with a team of 12. Now, as we take our first, tentative steps out of lockdown, there are 18 of us.
That’s a 50% growth in posts, including three more web developers, a finance manager, an account manager, and another graphic designer.
Recruiting staff remotely has been an interesting experience. Last week, all of us got together for the first time. We had a meal outdoors and reassured ourselves that we’re all fit and functioning.
Looking back it seems crazy that our pre-Covid policy was to allow staff just one day per week working from home. Our new hybrid model of homeworking and some time in the studio is definitely here to stay. Going forward we plan to be very flexible, while still making sure the whole team get together on a reasonably regular basis.
Quiz nights on Zoom have partly filled the social gap, but we’ve all really missed lunches at the pub and our walks and talks around the scenic Hartest countryside. And while remote scrum sessions have worked well using Zoho Sprints, they’ve definitely been sit downs rather than stand ups.
Thankfully, we’ve been busier than ever – more on that to follow.
We’re delighted to welcome David Hayhow to our team. He has over 11 years of experience as a full stack web developer, five years as an Apple Genius and 10 years as a pre-press professional. David used to work for Rubious, the agency we acquired 16 months ago. Thanks to his existing knowledge of many of the WordPress and WooCommerce websites we continue to support, this was our fastest appointment ever – from interview to starting work in just a few days.
With Dave onboard, our web development team numbers eight and our total team 16.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager that is detail-oriented and has excellent communication skills. Your role will involve managing the design and build of new projects, primarily websites.

As we continue to win new clients, we’re delighted to welcome two new members to the team – Jo Riches and Ruth Wailes.
Jo joins our client services team as an Account Manager, to support our clients and help them thrive. With 20 years’ experience in marketing and account management, she has a strong grasp of our strategy, branding and digital services. Having owned her own marketing agency, Jo knows all about helping companies grow.
Ruth has been our bookkeeper and payroll manager for many years and now steps up to become our Finance Manager. With 40 years of experience, Ruth will monitor the day-to-day financial operations of Fellowship and be responsible for cashflow forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, credit control and payroll.
With Jo and Ruth there are now 15 of us in the Fellowship team. We’ll be making more appointments in the coming months.
Our Head of Strategy, Paul Lewis, is now one of the world’s first group of Certified Brand Strategists. He spent an intensive study week with branding legend, Marty Neumeier, exploring and applying principles designed to make businesses more attractive to more customers. Paul’s team of six worked on refreshing the Harley Davidson brand, to broaden its appeal. Over the final 24 hours they had to produce a Superbowl ad, for which he wrote the script.
