Fellowship

Yesterday, Darren Hickey (our MD) attended the Agencynomics 3.0 – Change is Coming event in London, which focused on Web3.

This is a new, exciting phase of the internet which we're keen to learn more about. There were some fantastic presentations by leading experts which covered many Web3 areas such as:

  • Blockchain
  • Tokens
  • Smart contracts
  • Dapps (Decentralized Applications)
  • NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens)
  • DeFi (Decentralised Finance)
  • DAOs (Decentralised Autonomous Organisations)
  • and, of course, The Metaverse.

Over the coming months, our team will explore some of these areas in more detail. In particular, we’re keen to see if we can identify any opportunities Web3 may offer our clients.

CSO Marine Group has chosen Fellowship to build its new WordPress multisite.

The new site will encompass the group’s five businesses – CSO Marine Group, Offshore Operations, Colebrook Offshore, Rockabill Marine Design and Offshore Operations’ training division, Offshore Training Solutions – which operate in the marine renewables and offshore energy sectors.

For this project we’re working in collaboration with CSO Marine Group’s marketing agency, Conversion Communications, which specialises in Marketing & PR for the maritime and renewable energy sectors.

As specialists in developing integrated multisites, we’re looking forward to adding value to CSO Marine Group’s offering and furthering their success.

Say hi to Graphic Designer, Ian Walters. Our latest recruit, Ian takes our team to just shy of 20.

Having spent over 30 years in the business, from working solo to within a full service design agency, Ian has amassed a wealth of expertise. He’s worked for big name brands in sectors ranging from construction to agriculture, property, life sciences and pharma – designing corporate identities, brochures and ad campaigns, online and in print.

Away from work you can find Ian honing his drawing skills, making music with his synthesisers, enjoying the outdoors with his dog, Willow, and adding to his collection of ‘interesting stuff’ that inspires his creative output.

While we have clients across the UK and overseas, we’re also keen to work with other Suffolk based businesses like ourselves.

So, we’re delighted to be building a new WordPress website for Brandon based Lignacite. They make concrete blocks that are used by housebuilders and provide structural support for iconic buildings like The Shard and The Gherkin.

The new website will feature detailed technical data on Lignacite products, tailored for a range of different sectors and audiences, with a focus on generating new sales enquiries.

Fellowship

All nineteen of us got together yesterday to mark the twentieth anniversary of Fellowship.

In addition to celebratory drinks and nibbles, we took the opportunity to review our progress, our strategy and our plans for the future.

The latter included coming up with suggestions for our dream clients.

Rather predictably these included breweries, football teams, supercar manufacturers, video game makers and the world’s best known toy company.

We dare to dream...

Our WordPress developer, Mike Onslow, is also a goalkeeping coach. Earlier this month he took part in a local charity football tournament, raising money for Rare Disease UK, Hourglass, Cancer Research UK & Success After Stroke.

Although Mike’s team lost 3-1 in the final, the event was a roaring success, raising £5863.24 - well over the £4,000 target. Hundreds of spectators enjoyed the football, other entertainments and some glorious Suffolk sunshine.

A repeat is planned for next year.

Our new office is now fully furnished and looking great. We have plenty of space for team and client meetings, plus a bit of room for rest and relaxation – chance would be a fine thing! We’re right next to the A14 just east of Bury St Edmunds and looking forward to welcoming visitors. We’ll even break out the chocolate biscuits when you come.

Fellowship

2022 is a rather special year for us. We’re celebrating 20 years of Fellowship.

From a one man band founded by Darren Hickey, we’re now an 18 person agency.

Over the years our office has been located in a castle, a back garden portakabin, a rural barn conversion and is now in a business park by the A14.

Our very first project was a new logo and website for a small local business. Since then we’ve done hundreds more. Our clients have included Thomas Cook, Cancer Research UK, EasyJet, NHS, Sony and Panasonic.

Among the standout projects have been building Cancer Research UK's Race for Life website in 2012. This used groundbreaking Cognitive Match technology, that matches individuals with tailored content, in realtime.

Also designing a huge range of graphics for PM David Cameron’s speech at DP World London Gateway before the G8 summit in June 2013.

Our focus has always been on fundamentals – building distinctive brands and effective websites.

We help our clients grow through no nonsense, jargon-free marketing – underpinned by strong strategy. And by establishing long term partnerships based on being friendly, helpful and responsive. As well as being creatively and technically talented.

We’ll be sharing more about our story, our projects and our people over the coming months.

Here’s to the next 20 years!

Fellowship

Seventeen of the Fellowship crew got together last night for our Christmas meal. Sadly, we had one absentee due to Covid.

This was the first chance for many of us to meet some of our new colleagues. We ate in a huge Tipitent in the grounds of The Weeping Willow in Barrow, west of Bury St Edmunds.

Excellent food, great company and some entertaining Secret Santa gifts made for a fun evening.

Huddling around the giant pyramid heaters, swaddled in sheepskin rugs, proved increasingly popular as the night wore on.
